My oh my, how time flies. My last entry was November?! Do I have to keep apologizing for not staying on top of things here?
As you may or may not know Radiojive continues to broadcast as often as is possible. Live Earl continues to seek a permanent home, running 24/7, that will continue to give you the music you want to hear, when you want to hear. If anyone out there can host, please contact me here at Radio Zazoo or directly to Live Earl Jive. It would certainly be appreciated.
Now, onto the business at hand. The Radio Zazoo Pirate Broadcast usually airs on Sunday. The time is usually up to the discretion of Monsieur Jive. If you're a regular listener, then I'm sure that you're aware of the odd Radio Zazoo Marathon, where he's played all my show back-to-back.
All the playlists are available on this blog for your convenience…..except for the last two, which I am here to correct today.

She's So Rad - Confetti - She's So Rad is former Red Bull Music Academy attendee Jeremy Toy and Anji Sami. Hailing from New Zealand, they create soundscapes reminiscent of early 90's shoegaze, with a hint of electronica. This is the first single from their second album, and is available as a free download
here.

The Quiets - From Russia With Love - This Finnish surf band has been around since the mid-80's, releasing nine records. This Bond theme cover is taken from their 1989 release, entitled "More". They are about to release a new CD, their first in 10 years. Lots of things on You Tube, but very little info on the band itself.

The Beatles - Back In The U.S.S.R. - Couldn't resist sequeing The Quiets into this track. "
Come and keep your comrade warm…." From Russia with love, and back again.

Kim Fowley - Motorboat - Renowned KROQ-FM DJ, musician, producer, and Sunset Strip bon vivant, Kim Fowley was virtually responsible for putting the 70's/80's L.A. music scene on the map. His ambient sexuality continues to influence the scene to this day. "Motorboat" was originally released as a 7" single, back in 1973. Click on the link to see what Mr. Fowley is up to these days. Drake (ft. The Weeknd) - Crew Love (Shlohmo Remix) - Toronto, Canada's famous wordsmith gets the chillout makeover on this Top 40 hit. Shlohmo himself has made this remix available as a free download

Morten Harket & Pet Shop Boys - Listening - Released almost a year ago, this collaboration between
A-Ha's lead singer and PSB combines the best of both artists. By the way, Morten/A-Ha fans are all buzzed about his latest single, "I'm The One". As a treat, enjoy the recently released video below.

JFK - A Tribute To Peter and the Wolf - Ripped from the CFNY 1989 Modern Rock CD, this little piece of local Toronto synthpop, utilizing samples from a children's storybook recording, was a minor sensation at the station. Little is known or written about the band. According to the blog,
Raised On Canadian Radio, the band was comprised of two members - Scotsman Mark Reid and Canadian Steven Boyle. It still is a fan favourite.

Sally Shapiro - What Can I Do? - One can never be sad listening to the sweet, almost Italo disco, sounds out Sally Shapiro. This, her new single, will be on the Februaryrelease, on
Paper Bag Records, of her album, "Somewhere Else". Be sure to have a listen to the Com Truise remix
here on Soundcloud, the B-side to the CD single.

Biagio Antonacci - Non Vivo Più Senza Te - With a
video that's garnered over 6 million hits on You Tube, this addictive, feel-good song was THE hit in Italy last summer. Forget "gangnum style", Italy danced to a different rhythm. A shootout to my daughter, living in Rome, to send this my way.

Wax Tailor - Heart Stop (ft. Jennifer Charles) (radio edit) - This, according to his Bio on iTunes:
The
trip-hop performance moniker of one Jean-Christophe Le Saoût, Wax Tailor first
emerged in the French electronica scene in 2004 (with the EP release Lost the
Way), but didn't release his debut album until 2006. That debut, Tales of the
Forgotten Melodies, was a hit both in France and in the United States,
garnering numerous iTunes sales, as well as making quite a dent on the CMJ
charts that year. In 2007, Wax Tailor returned to the spotlight with his second
full-length, Hope & Sorrow. Featuring vocalist Charlotte Savary and Ursula
Rucker, this second album was enough of a success to warrant a number of live
shows featuring Wax Tailor and his four-piece band. He's
released three albums since, including a live performance, and his latest,
"Dusty Rainbow From The Dark", from which this single is taken. Old
film samples cut-&-pasted to a beat is what Wax Tailor are all about.
5. Nobby Clegg & The Civilians - Me Dad/My Old Man - Comprised of two Brit born musicians, Darrell Vickers and Andrew Nicholls, this song found success on CFNY back in the late 70's/early 80's. With a knack for comedy, they went on to write for The Tonight Show, as well as numerous other television productions.
6. Sham 69 - Leave Me Alone - The opening track from Jimmy Pursey's band's punk concept album, That's Life, it was a no-brainer seque from Nobby Clegg's cockney'd track. From 1975 to the present day, they continue to mine that original working class punk sound that gave rise to other acts, such as The Clash. I leave you with a 1978 performance at the Reading Festival of one of the other tracks from That's Life - "Angels With Dirty Faces".
