RaDIo zAzOo PiRatE BrOAdcAsT #003

Well it seems that the Live Earl Jive is still baffled by my signal. Perhaps he is slowly coming to terms with it. Maybe some kind of arrangement can be made here.....if he wasn't so stubborn and played some of these requests!!!!

Sorry......back to business at hand.....As you may have noticed, I've been a little slow in putting up the playlists lately.

Again, I threw together what could almost be considered a Saturday Night Party Mix. That's the feeling I got after listening to it in it's entirety for the first time. Old habits die hard, as they say, since I wa always the one putting the music together at parties.

Still tiring of the current CFNY playlist, when there is so much more out there. Radiojive.com is doing a great job, but I think even he needs to be enlightened every once in a while...... and that's where Radio Zazoo comes in.

Being a fan of the old CFNY, my current ear for new music is based on the notion of "If the station were still around today with the old incarnation of Marsden, Jive, Pete & Geets, (to name a few) and with Hal Harbour's creative input, (......yes, and Alan Cross) would they look to indie synthpop, folk rock, and real (not corporate) punk?" And Classic Rock to them would be the 70's/80's/90's that is now regularly programmed on AOR Hit stations.

Like radiojive.com, I love mixing up genres, and if Earl won't play some of the lost CFNY sounds, like those off the early New Music Search CD's, then I will.....and hijack his signal to do so! Case in point, I hope you enjoyed hearing The Marvelous Beauhunks again. That song is "classic rock" to me.

And in case you're interested, no Romo's were harmed in the making of this, or any future, broadcast.

01. The Avalanches - Since I Left You -

  1. Thanks for the Marvelous Beauhunks mention...

We've recently re-released our old material and a couple of new things on a CD called "Do Not Resuscitate" and are playing our first shows in 18 years.

Saturday Nov. 27 will see us at Mitzi's Sister in Toronto with Skaface and Teenage X.

Email me at info@782unes.com if you'd like a CD for review.
