1. Hannah Georgas - Bang, Bang You're Dead (2010) Taken from her This Is Good CD, Hannah was the darling of CBC Radio 3 this year. A lover of 80's music, as witnessed on her website blog, she continues to write interesting pop songs with a retro influence.

2. The Cure - Just Like Heaven (1987) Formed in 1976, The Cure are still going strong, touring and releasing new material in 2009.

3. Angelique Kidjo - Voodoo Child (Slight Version) (1998) African-born, Parisian-raised, Angelique Kidjo's jazz training and Dark Continent culture infuses a different take on popular music. This cover of Jimi Hendrix is a perfect example.

4. Andy Bell - Call On Me - Erasure's vocalist releases another solo CD, this initial single undoubtedly inherits the Erasure sound for this highly infectious dance track. Click on the link to Andy's website to hear more from Non Stop, including a duet with Jane's Addiction's Perry Ferrell!

I know it's been a while, and I'm keeping the "interruption" to Radiojive.com to a minumum. No more 60 minute broadcasts....so here's the playlist for #004:

1. Hurts - Better Than Love (2009) Peaking at No. 50 in the UK charts, Paul Lester of The Guardian put it so succinctly - "This electro-pop boy-duo look as though they've been styled by Helmut Newton, directed by Anton Corbijn and produced by Trevor Horn on a Martin Hannett tip". Touché.....

2. Syrinx - Tillicum (1971) To Canadian TV viewers, this was better known as the theme to "Here Come The Seventies", a show looking at what the future was bringing.

3. O.Children - Dead Disco Dance (The Golden Filter Remix)  (2009) The return of Goth Rock.....influenced by Nick Cave & The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, and The Mission, to name a few, be on the lookout for their first US single, "Ruins".

4. The Blue Van - There Goes My Love (2008) Just one of many singles taken from their "Man Up" CD, this Danish band's 70's influence is evident on the entire album. Click on the link to go to their webpage for samples from all four of their albums. You may also recognize this track from an iPad commercial.

Propellerheads - History Repeating Anti-War Remix

As the quote goes, "necessity is the mother of invention", and to properly segue a track in a show you'll be hearing soon, I decided to play around with the Knee Length Mix of the song. The result of my efforts is offered up here for you.

I hope I have successfully managed to change the fashion angle to an anti-war one.

Not really a straight remix, I incorporated the intro of Country Joe & The Fish's famous Woodstock performance and the battle FX outro of the studio version of the same song. That's why I decided to call it a "mashmix".

Whatever you want to call it, I hope you enjoy it.
